Mynydd Preseli - Where the Seed was Planted

As a young man many years ago when living in West Wales I ventured into the Preseli Hills a few times.  What was immediately apparent to me at the time....was the vibe.  All the normal boundaries one associates with modern day living gave way to wide open spaces with dramatic views that I could wonder freely.  I felt a resonance with the landscape and knew that this was where it was at for me.

Fast forward 20ish years and I had still yet to further explore this resonance sadly, but I had a new hobby...wildcamping, and after some woodland camps in Kent I decided to return to Preseli.

Foeldrygarn on the Eastern side of Mynydd Preseli.

Wide open spaces.

Boundaries melt away.

Time for a brew.  MSR Titan Kettle and Trangia Triangle Stove.

Feeling the vibes!

The trail across the Preseli Hills is called the Golden Road.

The rock outcroppings up here are called Carns.

Foel Cwmcerwyn in the distance...the high point of Preseli.

Only water source available.

Camped out just below the top of Foel Eryr to the North.
